Laurent Lavaill

Born in Quebec to Catalan parents, Laurent Lavaill studied drawing and graphic arts in France, at the School of Fine Arts in Perpignan, before returning to la belle province to pursue a career as an illustrator and graphic designer. while continuing his explorations as a visual artist.

Influenced, among others, by the expressionists Soutine and Modigliani as well as the Catalan artists Dalí and Miró, Lavaill practices above all the art of the counterbalance; or a stylistic research built around the portrait, and the accidental gesture intended to represent what is most unfathomable in each of us.
